SPACE IS THE PLACE

2025–2026, France (Guadeloupe), Réunion, USA, 90 min.
In English and French with English subtitles I Format: Digital

November 7 & 9 | SPACE IS THE PLACE celebrates the possibilities of Black imagination through science fiction, supernatural horror, surrealism, visionary storytelling, and speculative world-building. Whether confronting dystopian futures, haunted presents, impossible technologies, living landscapes, or alternate realities, these films use speculative form to examine contemporary questions of identity, migration, memory, power, and freedom. Moving between Afrofuturism, psychological horror, ecological imagination, experimental narrative, and genre cinema, the program embraces the fantastic, uncanny, and unknown as tools for reimagining reality and expanding the possibilities of Black life.
