ABOUT HIM

2025–2026, USA, Nigeria, 92 min.
In English, Egun, and Yoruba with English subtitles | Format: Digital

November 7 & 11 | ABOUT HIM offers an expansive portrait of Black manhood grounded not in dominance or performance, but in care. Across documentary and narrative cinema, these films illuminate the responsibilities Black men carry as fathers, sons, mentors, artists, laborers, friends, and community leaders. Whether navigating grief, preserving cultural traditions, creating spaces of refuge, confronting injustice, or defending collective dignity, the protagonists reveal masculinity as a practice of stewardship, vulnerability, courage, and collective responsibility. Together, these works challenge reductive narratives and affirm the richness, complexity, and humanity of Black men’s lives across generations and across the African diaspora.
