Essence McDowell, 42 min.) uplifts Black women’s history, the Chicago voices confronting erasure and preserving untold stories across generations, and SAPPHIRE & CRYSTALS (dir. David Weathersby, 39 min.) celebrates a pioneering collective of Black women artists whose work continues to shape Chicago’s cultural landscape.
