The program features an illustrated lecture by Afi Venessa Appiah, an NYU Cinema Studies scholar and creator of <em>Emblematic Elusions<\/em>, a publication series exploring eroticism in African cinemas. Drawing on landmark works from across Nacro&#8217;s filmography, audiences will discover how her films stage desire, gender, and laughter with a freedom that continues to shape African cinemas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Program by Afi Venessa Appiah &amp; Camille Bacon.
