Sophia Farmer


Master of Arts in Visual and Critical Studies

Sophia Farmer (they/them) is an artist and writer, working often in fiber arts, ceramics and beaded objects. Through world building, Farmer creates mixed media scenes exploring themes of surveillance and personal ways of being with plants and animals. They are a second-year Masters in Visual and Critical Studies student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. They received their BA from Reed College. They were an artist in residence at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Their work was recently shown at the California Clipper, Inga Books and the Lloyd Center.
