A. Piriyapokanon is a filmmaker and interdisciplinary artist graduated from the Motion Pictures and Still Photography Department at Chulalongkorn University. She possesses a strong appreciation for art that revolves around the lives affected by physical and mental oppression due to intergenerational trauma, social injustice, and politics.

Her works have participated in the Thai Short Film and Video Festival, Purin Pictures’ Short Film Camp, SeaShorts Film Festival, Bangkok Art & Culture Centre, Tawee Ratchaneekorn Art Gallery, 6060 Art Space, No Nation Art Gallery, International Museum of Surgical Science and more.

Assigned on an undercover mission, an officer is tasked to eliminate political activists who fled to live in the deep forest. But during the mission, he found another side of the story that he himself could not deny.

The Rotten Land, 2019, Documentary, 40 minutes

The documentary follows the mundane life of a rural farmer whose leg was amputated due to the use of Paraquat, in contrast to a protest to ban a deadly pesticide that took place in the heart of Bangkok.

The video captures a man living by the riverside, until the coming of the hydroelectric dam irreparably changes his way of living and identity.

Holy Water Burns Pt.2, 2022, 9 minutes

For 60 years, villagers who resided along the river were displaced from the lower basin flooded by the dam, leaving their houses and meadows submerged. This nine minute video invites audiences to stand where the villagers stood — under the water.
