Greta Zumbrunnen

Greta Zumbrunnen (they/them) is an editor and filmmaker based in the Evanston and Chicago areas. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Zumbrunnen moved to Chicago for their undergraduate studies at the School of the Art Institute. Their work includes documentary, fiction and conceptual film and video, and explores themes of identity, memory and loss. Their thesis film, a documentary about transgender artists, activists and archives around Chicago will be their first publicly released film. They are pursuing work in the field of commercial post production, and are passionate about bringing ingenuity and creative ideas into the field of advertising and marketing. In addition to editing, Zumbrunnen also works with sound design, recording and mixing. They are currently work on the screenplay of a new short film, “Beachcombers”, as well as a documentary about the devastating wildfires that struck Los Angeles in January of 2025.
