Hanna Renedo


Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Visual Communication Design (Graphic Design)

Hanna Renedo is a designer from Maine, based in Chicago. Her practice investigates relationships and boundaries between design and science communication. Framing design as a process of translation, Hanna’s current work examines methods of representing and communicating natural phenomena through visual narratives and book structures.

Prior to her work at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Hanna was a research assistant in the Coleman Lab at the University of Chicago. As a graduate student, she has collaborated with the Quaternary Sediment Lab at Northwestern University and is a recent recipient of the 2024–2025 Caxton Club Book Arts Grant. Hanna holds a BA in Biology from Bowdoin College and is an MFA candidate in Visual Communication Design at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
