Isabel Carr

Master of Architecture

Isabel Carr is a Master of Architecture candidate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work is largely inspired by her upbringing in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where she developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and land stewardship. She’s always had an affiliation for the arts too, spending much of her free time exploring fiber arts and graphic design. Isabel graduated with a B.S. in Architecture from the University of Michigan (Taubman College) in 2022. She also received a minor in Sustainability, completing an independent research study on Green Building Methods in the Great Lakes Region. She later expanded research on this topic in her thesis project, Resilient Ruins, specifically focusing on abandoned mining lands in the Lake Superior iron range.
