Juju Marie Rodriguez Mieszaniec

Master of Fine Arts in Fashion, Body and Garment

My name is Juju Marie Rodriguez Mieszaniec, and I am a Catholic fashion designer and fiber artist, originally from South Florida and currently based in Chicago. Through the fusion of traditional craft and contemporary expression, I strive to weave narratives that celebrate my Cuban and Polish heritage while embracing modern design. I work primarily with recycled, thrifted, and deadstock materials—not out of a focus on sustainability, but because these practices are deeply embedded in my heritage. In my family, resourcefulness is a way of life. Catholicism is a cornerstone of my artistic identity and it influences both the themes and symbolism in my designs. My current collection, “Saints in the Garden”, is a direct reflection of this faith. Through crochet, fiber art, and fashion, I aim to preserve the rich history of my cultural and religious background while pushing the boundaries of these traditional crafts.
