Nathége is Haitian- american interdisciplinary artist, writer and curator. Their practice is rooted in poetry, inspired by audre lorde Uses of the Erotic and Poetry is not a Luxury, they expanded it to include textile arts and performance as a way of bringing unnamed emotions into a corporeal space. Drawing from the Haitian heritage to ground themselves in a larger history, in various mediums Nathége creates art that communicates the human need for connection and the avenues we take to reach it. Honoring the legacy of Black feminists, Nathége incorporates theory into practice by approaching ideas of womanhood, sexuality, and spirituality with the intention to expand the lexicon for what black women can be.
