Pedro Trueba Ramírez
Pedro Trueba Ramírez (b. 1999, Mexico City) is an artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, drawing, sculpture, fiber work, and found objects. His work blends the playful and surreal with the familiar, constructing narratives that intertwine personal and collective memory. Drawing from stories of family and friends and his own experiences, he creates intimate stages where unscripted moments unfold.
Trueba’s work distorts dimensionality and color to reframe the everyday, offering symbolic fragments that glimpse larger narratives. Familiar figures and objects are reimagined in vivid detail, inviting viewers to explore the world through his distinct lens.
Pedro holds an MFA (2025) and Post-Baccalaureate Certificate (2023) from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BA from Universidad Iberoamericana (2022). He has held two solo exhibitions in Mexico City and participated in group shows, including Yawn Sigh (2024, Chicago) and Auto Portrait Spectacular (2024, National Museum of Mexican Art, Chicago).
