Tom White
Originally from Omaha, NE, Tom earned his BFA in Drawing from The University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2020. His work this past year has consisted of printing on fibers, screen printing, historical research, exploring forgotten urban spaces, collecting, and site-specific installation. He intends to continue in his research of urban spaces, their impact on his psyche, their impact on the psyche of the communities they inhabit, and how these spaces can be memorialized. Additionally, when and why these spaces are abandoned feed into his work. This is important. The most tangible way he has been able to communicate these findings is through site-specific installation, so he supposes he might as well continue to do that. When not in school, Tom has been working as a substitute teacher for Chicago Public Schools.
