Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Art and Technology Studies

Eric (Yi) Yen (b. 2000) is an interdisciplinary artist from Taiwan, whose work includes interactive media, game engines, creative code and biological materials. He first encountered bio-art in college and was intrigued by the diversity it presented. His first work depicts an imaginary plastic island to reflect the serious plastic crisis that the whole world is facing. Also, through interactive systems, he is trying to create opportunities for interesting biological phenomena in an effort to explore environmental issues or human behavior. In the future, Eric will continue to explore some more interesting biological phenomena, and hopes to discover more possibilities for combining bio-art with interactive art.
