Yuhe Li

Master of Fine Arts in Fashion, Body and Garment

Yuhe Li is a Chicago-based artist and fashion designer working primarily between soft sculpture and garments. She received both a BFA and an MFA in Fashion, Body, and Garment from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her practice explores the fluid intersections of fashion, identity, and personal memory, drawing inspiration from everyday encounters and personal archives.
Li’s work extends garments beyond the body, transforming them into sculptural and interactive forms. Through an experimental approach to materiality and construction, she investigates how fashion can serve as a medium for storytelling, memory, and societal reflection—blurring the boundaries between clothing, space, and self.
