Yuqing Ren, a Chinese emerging art therapist, is experienced in painting and research on art materials; she received her BFA in painting and photography from Wright State University in Ohio. Yuqing practices Gestalt art therapy, using art to explore inner realities and growth. Her approach focuses on an individual’s present-moment qualities and significant experiences, aiming to encompass their positive attributes and growth potential. Art therapy includes work on the social and public health of seniors, the advancement of children’s mental health, and the integration of art therapy through multicultural exchange. Yuqing emphasizes community and inclusive art-making, aiming to provide platforms for self-care through art therapy activities and concept dissemination. She believes that creativity stimulates positive traits to cultivate collective wisdom, growth, healing, and fulfillment. Her work involves self-exploration through mandala forms and elementary materials including the expression of sentiment, self-soothing, solace, and unity. She believes that the mandala symbolizes a rebalancing process, and their creation culminates in positive self-improvement.
