Junho Jeon is a filmmaker who writes and tells stories about overlooked history, social issues, or crucial questions and concerns that we all as human beings have to face in our society. He prioritizes on creating moving images and sound aesthetically, also clarity of narrative that can effectively deliver stories. Most of his works invites viewers to interpret and reflect on their own perspectives, rather than providing fixed conclusions of how the audience should act or react in our society. He sees storytelling as an evolving practice, and will always continue to seek for more meaningful ways to connect with the viewers.

I define myself as a story ‘Teller’. For me, effectively telling a story to someone is not just about providing information, but letting them think and interpret the story in their own ways afterwards. I started my artist career as a sculptor. I used to create art pieces and do installation works in public to communicate with the audience. Since my desire was to pull out a story and ‘tell’ it to the audience, interacting and communicating with them was crucial.
And later on, I thought the most common art that people enjoy were movies. Since then, cinema has personally become the most effective art form to interact with the audience. Rather than offering clear answers or fixed conclusions, my film work invites the audience to reflect and form their own perspectives.
