Katherine King

Katherine King is a multimedia artist based out of South Texas and Chicago with an interest in 2D digital and traditional animation as well as illustration. As a filmmaker, Katherine is interested in character-driven, narrative storytelling in all forms of film, both in live action and in animation. Katherine’s practice often explores themes of navigating close familial and interpersonal relationships, companionship, identity, communication, and relationships between the natural, non-human animals versus human animals. These subjects are explored through characters derived from domesticated and wild animals, as well as herself and the people she’s closest to. She hopes to develop and leave a positive emotional impact as an experience on her audience as a result of her films and illustrative works.
