Chloe Eum

Bachelors of Fine Art

Chloe Eum is an interdisciplinary artist based in Chicago and Seoul, whose work transcends media boundaries to explore internal reflection and the accumulation of language. Currently attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), she continues her extensive artistic experimentation with a focus on 3D animation and painting.

Rather than being confined to a single genre, Eum’s practice is a continuous search for the medium that best conveys her message. The introspective act of organizing fragmented thoughts through writing serves as the essential starting point for her creative process. Grounded in the philosophy that “the hourglass of life is filled not with sand, but with language,” her text-distilled emotions are translated into visual outcomes—ranging from painting and 3D animation to video and ceramics—functioning as structures of time and psychological force.

Eum is not only proficient in building narratives using digital technologies such as Autodesk Maya, Unreal Engine, and ZBrush, but also projects an analog sensibility, honed through a foundation in painting and drawing, into digital spaces. Informed by her experience as an art educator and video editor, she contemplates various modes of artistic communication. Her ultimate goal is to provide viewers with immersive experiences that invite them to look within and embark on their own journeys of personal growth.
