Stefano Botti

Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Art and Technology Studies

Stefano Botti explores a critique of transmuted visual phenomena into militarized, industrialized, and commercialized media sensing technologies. His work exposes the nature of filtering biological optics and light systems through transmutation, fitting into the perceptions and sensations of human life, and thus creating new optical systems entirely, not translations of existent ones. The nature of this transmutation thus reveals patriarchal norms and incentives to become separated from nature; to become a paradoxical, ghostly witness over Earth. Instead of following these habits, these artworks exist as participatory and a unification of aesthetics and scientific phenomena / history, showing the art instrument as an engagement with the hidden image.
