Jack Snelling

Jack is an emerging independent filmmaker from Massachusetts graduating SAIC with a BFA in Film, Video, New Media, and Animation. He began at SAIC as an interdisciplinary artist, working in comics, animation, film, photography, and writing, but he later shifted his focus primarily towards narrative film. His work draws heavily on the genres of science fiction and fantasy, and jumps between action, drama, and occasionally comedy. He frequently deals with questions of morality and existentialism. As a result the characters in his work are often solitary and introspective. Preferring to find new, non-traditional, story telling techniques or to find the stories that have still yet to be told, Jack works to balance standard practice with experimentation, resulting in familiar concepts with a twist or, occasionally, entirely unfamiliar concepts. He is currently working on a historical live action short film centered around dueling in the late medieval period.
