Ahmad George
Ahmad George (b.1994) is a Painter/ Multimedia artist from Memphis, Tennessee. They received a BFA from Memphis College of Art in Design and Illustration, and transitioned to narrative painting post graduation. Through a researched based practice, George has molded the symbols and motifs in their work to reflect the tensions of inherent monetary value placed on the black body, American Folklore, as well as nods to medieval alchemic esoteric material. Visually, George employs the tool of doubling to imply motion and add cinematic elements to their compositions. Through the use of Acrylic paint and occasionally fiber, they explore the temporality of violence, personal and family histories, as well as the core “cost “ of things. George has shown at NADA Miami as well as national and international group and solo exhibitions and is receiving their MFA in Painting from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago in Spring 2026.
