Hi, this is Galila. By the time you read this, I will have finished my Master of Architecture Studies and will be awaiting graduation. While I am no longer formally a student at the institute, I remain a student in practice every day. I also earned a certificate in Historic Preservation during my time at the school. My projects so far focus mostly on Historic Preservation, humanitarian architecture, disaster relief, and emergency design. The question I pose to myself at the beginning of every project is in what way our profession can contribute to people in need, and how can we alleviate the ever-growing problems the world faces every day? I believe art and design, when used with strategic deliberation, can significantly help vulnerable communities in crises.
