Haru Yukawa Andersen
Haru Yukawa Andersen (b.1998) is a visual artist who primarily works with photography, exploring the complexities of historical narratives and the violent history embedded within the photographic medium itself. Having spent half of her life in Japan and the other half in the United States, she seeks to reinterpret the idea of the “postwar” while questioning the relationship between the two countries that shaped her upbringing. Haru holds her BA in Media, culture, and communication studies from the International Christian University (Tokyo, Japan) and is currently an MFA candidate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
