Jannah Amatul-Mannan Sellars
Jannah Sellars is a Bay Area native currently residing in Chicago where she is completing her Master’s degree in Art Therapy and Counseling. Holding a BA in Islamic Studies and Liberal Arts, Jannah’s background in teaching, community service, and organizing informs her emerging clinical practice. Passionate about the intersections of spirituality, wellness, and collective liberation, Jannah uses art and art therapy as forms of advocacy and communal care to support underserved communities through community mental health, arts based activism, and a particular passion for re-entry. Jannah’s art practice is highly intuitive, process oriented, and multidisciplinary, with a focus on fiber arts, painting, and ceramics. She engages diverse mediums to create meaningful works that reflect both personal and collective experiences– particularly those shaped by her identity as a multi-racial Muslim woman.
