Joshua Weinberg holds a BA and an MA in philosophy from the New School for Social Research and was working on a book on American Nihilism when COVID hit. He became frustrated with trying to put his thoughts into words and turned to image making. Using oil and mixed media he paints on everything from canvas to scrap wood and found objects. He is still concerned with human behavior and modern moral attitudes though, in art, he has found the freedom to continue his examinations from the foundation of his own narrative experience. Using images from his memories, his dreams as well as pop culture, often as metaphors for the human condition, Weinberg is ultimately a storyteller.
