Khidr Joseph

Master of Fine Arts in Studio, Photography

Joseph is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores themes of self-preservation, disguise, and memory through the lens of his family’s history. Drawing on archives, stories, and the gaps within them, he investigates how the past shapes our understanding of who we are. His practice uses the ghillie suit as a symbol of anonymity and concealment, reflecting the hidden figures in our ancestry. Through constructed scenes and atmospheric depictions, Joseph brings these elusive stories into focus, honoring those who came before him while considering how their presence resonates today.
