laura bejarano
laura bejarano (b.1995 Ibagué, Colombia) is a transdisciplinary artist whose drawing-based practice operates as both an autobiographical record and a manifesto of life. Light, line, color, paper, fiber, and beads become material languages woven into abstract, multi-dimensional landscapes. bejarano creates intuitive images informed by complex systems shaping the larger world.
laura bejarano has completed residencies at Second State Press and 1817 Studio C in Philadelphia, PA, and at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center in Hyattsville, MD. They have taught workshops at the Smithsonian Postal Museum, the University of Delaware, Maryland Multicultural Youth Center, Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, and with I Learn America. Bejarano has shown in Atlanta, GA, Los Angeles, CA, Philadelphia, PA, Washington DC and Chicago, Illinois. They received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design.
