Rui Zhang is an artist from China, currently based in Chicago. Her work centers on a state of “in-betweenness” and a sense of instability associated with displacement.

Trained in Printmaking, she also works with photography, which informs much of her practice, while her exploration of ceramics extends from her background in printmaking. Her work originates from the everyday and reflects upon it, as she seeks to find a sense of balance and belonging within an unstable and transient condition.
