I’m Wenlu, from China. My practice explores the relationships between objects, the human body and everyday life. Blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary technology, I create functional design, sustainable craft and interactive installations from observations of unmet social needs and subtle human-object interactions. Shifting from personal experience to social inquiry, she experiments with tactile and responsive materials, framing objects as active agents to probe emotional connections and reimagine daily living—seeing design as both a way of making and thinking.

This project explores the reuse of damaged ceramic materials, inspired by my upbringing in Jingdezhen and deep connection to its local ceramic culture. Having noticed the ceramic losses in production and transportation, I collected damaged porcelain fragments and transformed them into new flower pots that blend traditional ceramic forms with reconstructed surfaces—through material testing, shaping and manual assembly. Centered on the value of imperfection and reuse, the work explores how broken materials can gain new meaning via design.
