Yufan Zhao
I’m a visual artist and designer from China, currently based in Chicago. My work explores how visual representation shape cultural memory, often centering minority groups, overlooked pieces and spaces, also everyday lives. I create artist books, print-based works, and installations that translate small things in everyday lives to shared visual forms. I see design as a tool for care, expression, and quiet action. My practice is research-driven, often rooted in fieldwork, language, and observation. I move between image, shapes, typography, and narrative to hold space for what is connecting us to the world.
