Liang-Yu Huang
Born in Taiwan (1998), Liang-Yu Huang is currently based in Chicago pursuing his MFA in sculpture at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, USA. He received his Bachelor of Fine Art from Taipei National University of the Arts (2021), majoring in sculpture.
Liang-Yu’s practice involves reconfigured actions that highlight existing instructions of the social system in nowadays cityscape. His research is bonded with urban modern-ology, especially the instructive objects in modern cities, such as reflectors, fences, billboards and public arts. The journey to rediscover his living environment has become the core of his work. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including: SITE gallery, Roots & Culture, Marina City Tower, Hangzhou Phoenix Creative Building, Carp Gallery, Tamsui Arts & Cultural Park-Shell Warehouse, Freedom Men Art Apartments, Liu Art Museum.
