Aubrey LaDuke is an artist based in Chicago working in painting and assemblage. She is interested in the play that can occur between lived experience and the subconscious. LaDuke’s portraits are quieter and more reflective, inviting the viewer into an internal psychological environment. The assemblages are intuitive and obsessive, comprised of collected advertisements that are arranged in a way that evoke a moment of recognition. LaDuke holds a BA from Pepperdine University and is currently an MFA candidate in Painting and Drawing at SAIC.
