Subversive Pleasures, Mapping the Problematic

Inspired by Barbara DeGenevieve’s devotion to teaching and her students, we invite currently enrolled SAIC students who will continue to be enrolled in fall 2024 to create and submit work in response to a selection of Barbara’s legendary assignment prompts listed below. To highlight her ongoing relevance to the current SAIC student body, a faculty jury (Aimée Beaubien, Mark Jeffery, and Frédéric Moffett) will review the submissions and select a group of students to participate in the student exhibition “Subversive Pleasures, Mapping the Problematic” hosted within the “In Your Face” exhibition. Like DeGenevieve’s work, the student exhibition will not be limited to a specific medium.
